Latoya Johnson
Founder & CEO
Latoya Johnson is a multifaceted philanthropist, business owner and developer, author, mother, and mentor who founded the nonprofit organization Village of Becoming. As a displaced teen herself, Latoya experienced firsthand the challenges faced by young adults in need of support and guidance.
Determined to make a difference, she channeled her passion into creating an organization that empowers displaced youth through mentorships, scholarships, and independent living preparation. With a strong corporate background, Latoya has been able to leverage her vast network and resources to create life-changing opportunities for countless young individuals.

Lindsay Gambit
Board Member
Elizabeth Lopez is a highly regarded Senior Economic Development Specialist at the City of Las Vegas. In her current role, Elizabeth works in business development, where she has made significant contributions to redevelopment, asset management, and business attraction over the past seven years. Her focus on engaging the business community and leaders has fostered a supportive environment for innovation, startups, and entrepreneurship in the Las Vegas Valley. Elizabeth's passion for building and growing the Las Vegas community stems from her strong ties to the city.
As a UNLV alumnus, she received her undergraduate degree in Business Administration-Finance from the Lee School of Business, and later her MBA in the executive program. Elizabeth has also been actively involved in several non-profit organizations as a volunteer. Elizabeth's extensive experience, business acumen, and commitment to the community make her an invaluable asset to the City of Las Vegas and a trusted member of our organization.



Lindsay Gambit
Board Member
Originally from Chicago, Lindsay Gambit has now been a resident of Henderson, Nevada since 2001. Her educational journey began at UNLV, where she completed her first bachelor's degree in Political Science with aspirations of becoming an attorney. She decided to pursue a second bachelor's degree in nursing at Nevada State College. Currently, Lindsay is pursuing her DNP at The University of Nevada, Reno, which reflects her strong commitment to advancing her knowledge and skills as a healthcare professional.
As a successful business owner for the past four years, Lindsay's professional expertise is not limited to healthcare. Her entrepreneurial experience adds another dimension to her leadership role as a board member. Overall, Lindsay's unwavering commitment to her patients, her community, and her profession makes her an invaluable member of our organization.

Mercy Maston
Board Member
Mercy Maston is a former professional football player who played for nine years. Prior to playing at the professional level, he played college football at both Bakersfield College and Boise State University.
While at Bakersfield College, Maston was a standout football player and helped lead his team to a state championship. Mercy later transferred to Boise State University, where he continued to excel on the football field and earned a bachelor's degree.
Throughout his football career, Maston was respected by peers and fans for his skill, work ethic, and sportsmanship. He continues to be a role model for aspiring athletes and an inspiration to many who admire his accomplishments both on and off the field

Miranda Richardson
Board Member
Miranda Richardson is a highly skilled customer success professional in the Information Technology industry. Her passion for technology and ability to empower organizations to solve problems through digital transformation is second to none. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Miranda now lives in San Jose, CA where she is a Customer Success Account Manager for Microsoft. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Northwestern University in Communication Systems. She currently partners with global organizations in creating and delivering industry-relevant solutions to organizations globally, supporting some of the most complex industry sectors.
As the chair of the World-Wide Blacks at Microsoft (BAM) External Connections Committee, she helped one of the largest companies in the world evolve on issues of diversity, inclusion, equity and social impact. She has created a systematic and scalable method of sourcing and engaging internal and external partnerships that brought value enterprise-wide. Miranda is an active member of Theta Theta Omega an Alpha Kappa Alpha, Incorporated graduate chapter located in Las Vegas, NV, and continues to deliver cultural awareness and STEAM communal deliveries empowering local communities.

Michael Swecker
